Prof. Dr. Jutta Menschik-Bendele, born in 1944, lives in Klagenfurt in the south of Austria. There she has a private practice for psychoanalysis, family therapy and supervision. She is also an instructor and supervisor for candidates in therapy education.
She studied Political Science and Psychology at the Free University of Berlin, is certified in both subjects and in 1984 she was appointed Full Professor of Psychology at the Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt. Until her retirement in 2012, she headed the Department of Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. She taught as a guest professor at several universities in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
For many years till now she has been a continuous conductor of a self-experience Small Group as well as a Co-Conductor of the Large Group in the training program for health professionalists (International Group of Group Analysis, Bonn / Germany). At the invitation of Robi Friedman, she has been participating in the international reading group on large groups since 2017.
Her research interests and publications (i.a.) cover the following areas:
psycho-therapeutic processes, gender, crises and conflict, intercultural communication, social psychology of Right Wing Extremism.
Since 1990 she is scientific consultant of the Austrian Ministry of Health in matters of psychotherapy.
