The Female body mind and the phenomenon of a women's group
in the Israeli political arena
Mrs. Elisabeth Rothschild and Mrs. Bracha Hadar
We propose a one-day workshop dedicated to explore the development of women's movements working for peace in Israel during the last decades.
The emphasis will be on "Women Wage Peace" with reference to the movement "4 mothers" as its historical background.
The program has 3 parts:
A theoretical point of view concerning the female body mind and how, in our opinion, it leads to political activism. We will include in this part an important example of the women's movement in Liberia which forced the leadership to end the war
An informational point of view describing the "Women Wage Peace" movement, its historical and political roots, the organizational structure, how it operates and its activities and goals.
We will invite one of the main active women in the movement to lecture the participants of the workshop about all these aspects.
Women from the Arabic sector of the Israeli society and active in the movement will share with us their point of view.
During the day we will conduct two sessions of group discussion with all the workshop participants – we will create a space to share feelings, thoughts, questions and dilemmas.
We will conclude the workshop summarizing the ideas and feelings that emerged during the day.
