Call for papers, suggestions for workshops
“There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other is wings.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
“Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay.” Dalai Lama
We are pleased to invite you to join the fourth international Spring Workshop of the Israeli Institute of Group Analysis (IIGA) which will take place on the 4-9 April 2019 at the 'Yearim Hotel', near Jerusalem.
We live in times of rapid social and technological changes, globalization and massive population transfer. Concurrently, each of us wishes for a deeper understanding of our individual and group origins. These processes find expression in the group matrix and in the complex processes occurring in the analytic group. Group members give expression to their multiple identities and their deepest roots, while investigating the unconscious and the unknown layers of themselves and of the group.
In this Workshop, comprised of lectures, workshops, large and small groups; we shall contemplate the links between consolidation and change, between preservation and creativity, between settling down and liberation. We will attempt to explore the tension between the experiences of attachment and belonging with the areas of rift, alienation and disengagement.
We invite you to join us in this exciting opportunity to explore group processes related to “Roots and Wings” in the individual, the group and the society.
You are welcome to submit proposals for:
The abstracts should be up to 500 words with the name of author and the contact details on a separate page.
Sincerely Yours,
Ido Peleg and Elisabeth Rothschild, chairs of the scientific committee
Liat Ariel and Smadar Ashuach, chairs of the Workshop
